The Fig & The Knife is a small business owned and operated by Chef Janette Gomez. But our success is in part to wonderful partners and collaborators in our community. We love brainstorming and creating with other business in the Phoenix area and beyond. Below are a few we love to work with. If you love us, you’ll probably love them!

Although, most of the time I create dishes on the fly, trusting my palate and instincts and rarely follow a recipe to the letter, I have on occasion written recipes. You can see a sampling of those on my recipe page. Additionally, I was honored to be included in a few editions of our quarterly local publication, Edible Phoenix. As a freelance contributor, I not only write the recipe, but also photograph the supplemental images and the In Season featured image. Pick Up a copy around town every quarter!

2020 has ushered in new ways to go through our day to day and altered our shopping habits. In light of the pandemic; and adhering to self isolation, home delivery of groceries has become a new normal vs. a luxury. Additionally, it has been overwhelminly heartwarming to see how much the community wants to support local. Several services have popped up, but I chose to partner with The PHX Sampler because they not only fill the need of local, artisanal products delivered right to your door, they also strongly believe in telling the story of the product maker with its customers. It’s about community and learning who is making your food. If you love, or want to fall in love with our products you can order direct from us for local and national delivery. But, if you’re in the Phoenix area and want to experience a weekly variety of local makers, check them out. You may find one of my products in your delivery! Visit thephxsampler.com
If you believe in getting to know who makes your food and haven’t heard of tasteMAKERS, then prepare to be amazed. Emmy-winning Cat Neville tells the stories of local farmers, chefs and food artisans who are redefining American food and drink on her show, tasteMAKERS, airing on PBS and CreateTV Channel. Recently, they introduced Makers Marketplace, where they continue to show their support for food makers. This online platform brings our products to the national level, while still maintaining our local handcrafted philosophies and practices. Experience the videos on their website and shop from a collection of local food artisans like myself and others. . . all in one cart!!

52 Saturday’s a year, rain or shine the team at Phoenix Public Market, now known as Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market organizes a market nestled in the heart of downtown!! They opened up the market to us in early 2018, and we have made this our home ever since. The community involvement, both from the staff and all those that make the journey across the valley to shop, eat and chat with us, makes heading out before the sunrises worth while! Come say hi, and buy local!
