Edamame Hummus Made with our Signature ‘Green’ Sauce!
Ingredients:
- (1) 10-16 oz. bag of defrosted shelled Edamame (Typically found in your grocer’s freezer in the vegetable section)
- 3 fresh Garlic Cloves (more or less if you prefer a milder/stronger garlic taste)
- 4 oz. of Green Sauce
- Water
- Up to 2 Tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil as needed
- Fine Sea Salt
- Black Sesame seeds to garnish (optional)

- In a food processor throw in the garlic cloves to mince.
- TIP #1 – If you do not have a food processor but instead will be using a good quality blender, pre-mince your garlic to ensure you don’t get left with large chunks. Raw garlic can be a bit much.
- TIP #2: It’s important to use fresh garlic and not jarred garlic, or you will get an aftertaste from the brine they used. Remember, this is basically a raw dip so anything you put in, will be tasted.
- Add the whole bag of defrosted Edamame and blend until creamy. It wont be smooth just yet.
- Tip #3 – If you don’t defrost the Edamame, it will be very chunky and water logged, forcing you to add extra water and/or oil to get it to smooth out. It would seem ok now, but later you’ll end up with a water or overly oiled product.
- Toss in 2 oz. of the Green Sauce into the food processor to begin to develop the flavors of the hummus.
- Once fully blended, check the consistency. It will be a bit tight.
- At this point, add a little bit of water and then pulse to get it to loosen and smooth. Repeat until desired texture.
- Once you’ve achieved a nice smooth texture, taste it! You may want to add a little more olive oil to give it that depth of flavor. You’ve added a whole lot of natural green goodness, so a little healthy fat will bring it together.
- The same goes for salt.
- Tip #4 I exclusively use sea salt. It taste better, is unprocessed and is better for you. If you have a lemon infused salt, go for it!
- If you want a little more flavor, add a little extra green sauce before you take it out of the food processor/blender and pulse one last time.
- Once it’s perfectly combined and seasoned, pour into a bowl and then dollop the remaining green sauce over the top right in the center. You can then dip through the green sauce into the Edamame for a perfectly combined bite every time.
